Starbucks Secret Menu Drink of the Day: Roasted Chestnut.

I came across a fantastic website devoted to the Secret Menu at Starbucks.  I too have an interest in the Secret Menu possibilities at Starbucks and have written about it, here.

A drink that caught my eye is called the Roasted ChestnutRoasted Chestnut Starbucks

Here is the recipe:

  • Start by ordering a Hazelnut Macchiato
  • Add toffee nut syrup (1 pump for a tall drink, 1 1/2 pumps for a grande, and 2 pumps for a venti)
  • Add extra hazelnut syrup (1 pump for a tall, 1 1/2 pumps for a grande, and 2 pumps for a venti)
  • Add white chocolate mocha syrup (1/2 a pump for a tall and for a grande drink or, 1 pump for a venti drink)
  • Top with spiced whipped cream and hazelnut drizzle

Drink.

Some important notes to keep in mind when ordering a drink from the secret menu:

1.  Make sure you know the recipe of the drink you would like to order and not just the name.

2. Depending on what drink you’re ordering and what add-ins there are, be prepared for extra costs.

3.  Paying with a registered Starbucks card or with the Starbucks mobile app will earn you stars towards free rewards.

4.  Savour every sip

5.  Come back and post your thoughts here!

What are your favourite Starbucks drinks?

  1. As a barista, I appreciate you telling people to know the recipe. However, what our macchiatos are is the following: vanilla syrup on the bottom (2, 3, 4/5(if it’s iced) pumps), milk, (ice if iced) and espresso shots. The only thing that’s caramel / hazelnut about them is the drizzle on top. So in your instructions, “Add extra hazelnut syrup (1 pump for a tall, 1 1/2 pumps for a grande, and 2 pumps for a venti)” there’s no hazelnut syrup to begin with. Even if you add one pump for a tall, you’re still going to have two pumps of vanilla, a pump of toffee nut per your instructions and a half of a white mocha pump. So that’s 4.5 pumps in a tall alone. Maybe it’s because I work there, but especially with something sweet like white mocha, that’s a lot of sugar. I say this just as a warning.
That being said, there are test markets that have a drink called Chestnut Praline. You should see it if your store has it. it’s terrific.

    1. K. You are awesome! Thank you for your comments.

Please drop by ANY time! If you want to write a post or anything coffee related, I would love it and so would my readers!

I pulled this recipe from another website so I wasn’t even sure if it tasted good, or if it was even possible and you confirmed that it might not work.

I’m not sure where that website originates from – I’m in Canada – or if that makes a difference because all locations are the same.

Personally, I love a coffee with a pump of mint and a pump of mocha. Tastes amazing and still really nice when it cools off.
