Daddy, do you like being left-handed?

My oldest son, Linus, just asked me if I like being left-handed.

{After my devil horns sharpened up, and my fangs came out, I waved my hand towards a passing car and it was immediately engulfed into a ball of flames…}

“Yup”, was my response.

“Have you ever been teased for being left-handed?” he asked.

“Yup”, was my response.

Then I sat him on my lap, explained to him that in University, I convinced the student government to provide me with an office and annual funding so that I could run a left-handed student’s association because it’s an important issue.

“Really?”, he asked in disbelief.

“Yup”, I responded.

Then we went through the ins and outs of being left-handed – just the Coles-notes version – and we both concluded that to be left-handed means I’m special because I learned to tie my shoes, open doors with my right-hand, use a mouse right-handed and cut with scissors in my right hand.

Again in disbelief, he said, “Really?”

So I showed him.

Then I looked him in the eyes and said exactly what he needs to know about us southpaws;

“Everyone is born right-handed, but the greatest overcome it!”left handed

Case closed!

Right-handed, of course.
