Happy Father’s Day 2013. A poem for you too…

Happy Father’s Day to all Father’s who have kids, had kids or have taken the role of a Father to other children. We do not receive (nor deserve) the same fanfare as mother’s do on Mother’s Day but deep down inside we know the little things we do to make our children safer, smarter and better human beings. Keep up the great work Dads! #FathersDay2013

My favourite poem for this day was given to me by my son 5-years ago.  It reads;

Walk a little Slower

Walk a little slower, Daddy,

Said a little child so small.

I’m following in your footsteps

And I don’t want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,

Sometimes they are hard to see;

So, walk a little slower, Daddy.

For you are leading me.

Someday when I’m all grown up,

You’re what I want to be;

Then I will have a little child

Who’ll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,

And know that I was true;

So walk a little slower, Daddy,

For I must follow you.
